Dual MBA / MSHI Degree Combining Business and Healthcare

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) dual degree program was designed to help health care professionals and management-level business professionals to learn to apply health informatics skills and business knowledge in healthcare settings. Our degree:

Curriculum
Foundation Course Prerequisites
These courses are required for candidates who do not have a bachelor's degree in business or who lack knowledge in the following disciplines:
- ACCT 509 - Essentials/Fundamentals of Accounting
- DSIM 509 - Essentials/Fundamentals of Quantitative Methods
- ECON 509 - Essentials/Fundamentals of Economics
- FIN 509 - Essentials/Fundamentals of Finance
Health Informatics Program Requirements
Co-Requisites
Students who do not have a medical background will be required to take a two-credit hour MSHI 201 Medical Terminology and Healthcare Essentials course before completing their third course in the program.

- MSHI 504 - Advanced Systems Analysis
- MSHI 505 - Advanced Health Informatics II
- MSHI 506 - Advanced HealthCare Database Management
- MSHI 524 - Epidemiology and Evidenced-Based Health Informatics
- MSHI 525 - Key Standards in the Health Care Industry
- MSHI 526 - Legal and Social Issues in Health Informatics
Students must also complete MSHI 540: Capstone, a three (3) credit hour course that satisfies the capstone degree requirement.

- Additional Transcripts may be requested if you have completed less than 60 credits at your degree conferring institution, or if you are wishing to waive the MBA Pre-Requisite requirements (Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics)
- Students with a GPA under 3.0 will be considered based on a holistic individual assessment that may require extra documentation.
