Charlotte Rose '22 has earned many titles on her journey as a top youth sailor and collegiate student-athlete: two-time Youth World Champion. Back-to-back College Single-handed National Champion.
U.S. Sailing Team member. JU Sailing Team captain. Two-time Collegiate All-American. And now, as she sets her sights on yet another title – 2024 U.S. Olympic Team representative – she is also celebrating a recent addition to the list: Jacksonville University Class of 2022 graduate. Rose, a kinesiology major and psychology minor, spent her four years at JU balancing coursework, competing in more than 20 regattas each year with the nationally ranked JU Sailing Team, and traveling around the country and internationally to train with the U.S. Sailing Olympic Development Program.
The sacrifices of time and sleep were worth it, she said, because, “I’ve wanted to be an Olympic sailor since I was 12 years old. My time at JU gave me a home away from home and my experience on the JU Sailing Team helped my mental game so much.”
