Jacksonville University is gearing up for the 3rd Annual Festival of the Arts, happening this Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Presented by the Linda Berry Stein College of Fine Arts & Humanities, the event features art, theater, jazz, and food trucks, catering to all tastes and ages.
The event, hosted on Jacksonville University’s campus, is free and open for anyone to attend.
Jacksonville University Theater students will present "The Trail to Oregon" at 2:00 p.m. in the Phillips Fine Arts Building Black Box Theater. Directed, designed, and starring students, the comedic play is a family-friendly adaptation of the popular video game, “The Oregon Trail.”
The Visual Arts Fair, located between Terry Concert Hall and Swisher Theater, will feature artwork from students, faculty, staff, and alumni, available for purchase. You can also catch artist demonstrations throughout the day, including a glass blowing booth.
All day at the Terry Concert Hall, enjoy jazz performances from middle and high school ensembles, as well as JU Jazz Combos and Jazz Orchestra, along with special guests.
