Professional Information

Dr. Trouten comes to Jacksonville University from Case Western Reserve University Department of Orthodontics, where he has served as a full time Assistant Professor since 2006.  Dr. Trouten instructed and supervised residents in the orthodontics clinic He also taught an orthodontic boot camp for incoming orthodontic and pedodontic residents.  During this time, he also maintained a full time private practice in both Euclid and Willoughby, Ohio and has dental licenses in Florida and Ohio.

His classroom experience includes teaching seminars in biomechanics, facial growth, diagnosis and treatment planning, business management, and ethics and professional conduct.  His field of special interest is craniofacial growth and development as well as interceptive orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic treatment.  

Dr. Trouten is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the Great Lakes Society of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, the American Board of Orthodontics, and is a fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an honorary dental organization.  He was president of the Northeastern Ohio Dental Society and the Cleveland Society of Orthodontics and was an officer in the Greater Cleveland Dental Society.
