A Personal Thank-You on Outstanding Efforts for Global Citizen Award Event
February 18, 2016
Dear Faculty, Students and Staff:
Over the course of our three years together and in our joint journey toward a vastly better University, I have been proud to be associated with each of you many times and in many ways. As an alumnus, donor, board member and supporter -- and now as an employee of the Jacksonville University -- I have experienced first-hand your passion and purpose as part of the JU family.
The reason I write you all a brief note today is to express my respect and personal gratitude for your cooperation, energy and support as we, together, hosted the legendary filmmaker Ken Burns last week at our Presidential Global Citizen celebration.
At every turn that day, and in every possible way, you helped distinguish yourselves and our University as a premier institution of higher learning, serious about new ideas and emerging trends, and dedicated to excellence and scholarship.
One of the great benefits of this position is that I frequently receive the compliments and good wishes of the community when all of you excel. Please know that over the past week, I have received literally dozens of personal comments, emails, text messages and phone calls of thanks and congratulations from those who attended, and -- importantly -- many who simply heard of the event or read about it. This level of community-wide goodwill translates directly into our ability to accomplish more of the same in the future.
On behalf of your administration, Board of Trustees and friends of the University throughout our region, my thanks to each of you.
Sincerely,
Tim Cost
