Veteran's Day Message
Nov. 7, 2017
To the Jacksonville University Community:
As we approach Veterans Day, each of us should take time to remember the sacrifices of the men and women who have served in the United States armed forces. The service members we honor came from all walks of life, but they shared several fundamental qualities. They possess courage, pride, determination, selflessness, dedication to duty and integrity – all the qualities needed to serve a cause larger than one’s self. They are ordinary people who respond in extraordinary ways in extreme times. We owe these patriots a debt of gratitude for their service in defense of our freedom.
Jacksonville University is proud of its long history of supporting the United States military. We have 600 members in our Jacksonville University military community, which includes active-duty students, student veterans, Navy ROTC, military family members, faculty veterans, and staff veterans. We will continue to seek new and innovative ways to support our military community.
The United States’ military represents the best ideals of our nation, embracing the unity and diversity that make America strong. Veterans Day honors those who have given their all for our freedom, and I hope you will take time to honor these heroes.
Sincerely,
Tim Cost
