Your Big Green Give Donations Exceeded All Expectations
April 18, 2016
To the JU Community,
As we continue to move our institution forward, we look for certain milestones to indicate progress. Last week we celebrated Charter Week and the 82nd birthday of Jacksonville University. I want to personally thank you for embracing the spirit of #JUGives, a terrific success on multiple levels.
More than 1,000 students, faculty, staff, alumni and parents served our local Arlington community during our Day of Service, which is certainly to be commended. Additionally, 89 employees participated in our Big Green Give, JU’s annual Day of Giving initiative. Thank you faculty and staff for your personal investments totaling $13,496. This philanthropic partnership will have an immediate impact.
Special congratulations to the College of Arts & Sciences, which had the highest participation rate and has won the Inaugural Dolphin Cup. I am sure you will find a suitable place to display it over the next year and will put the $500 winnings to good use for the benefit of our students.
It’s with tremendous gratitude and pride that I announce that the combined participation of students, alumni, parents and friends yielded a grand total of $380,421 raised for our Big Green Give -- plus more still to be added in from our spirited Greek Challenge that took place Saturday night.
I am very proud of our JU family for coming together in service and generosity to make our University a better institution and to deepen our relationships in our local community. Let's keep the momentum going with a stellar spring commencement celebration with our graduating students.
Sincerely,
Tim Cost
