Bio: Abigail Callahan is a junior majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Cybersecurity and Naval Science at Jacksonville University. She’s on track to commission in the United States Navy through JU’s Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC). Within the military, her aim is to apply her skills and knowledge with wholehearted dedication, utilizing the education and experience she has cultivated at JU to serve her country faithfully. Bio: Jack Carver is a senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Engineering. During his time at Jacksonville University, he has been a high-performing academic student, while also being a four-year member of the University Men’s Baseball team. He has displayed superb time-management skills, teamwork, leadership, and creativity in his multiple engineering design projects along with his time on the baseball field. These skills have landed Jack on the University Dean’s List as well as the ASUN conference honor roll. Outside of school, Jack has obtained internship experience with the company Kaman Aerospace, where he used problem-solving and lean thinking to solve multiple process problems and improve flow/speed of work. Bio: Levi Clark is a JU senior majoring in Finance and minoring in Naval Science. He’s a Navy option midshipman at the JU Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) unit, one of the largest in the nation. He’s held multiple leadership positions in the program, including Battalion Commander and the highest student NROTC position. These roles have both challenged Levi to grow and have increased his passion for Naval service. Upon graduating from JU, Levi will commission into the U.S. Navy and serve in one of its advanced and exciting career paths. Levi loves fitness and competed in a bodybuilding competition his sophomore year. He’s a proud member of distinguished campus groups, including the Green Key Honors Society and the JU Honors Program. Bio: Neesa DaCosta is a fourth-year undergraduate student who is double majoring in Management and Marketing. Neesa is currently the Team Assistant and Board Secretary for the Jacksonville University Varsity Shooting Team, where she not only holds a leadership position but has also achieved remarkable accomplishments. She works full-time as the Director of Marketing at a prominent heavy equipment company in her home country of Jamaica. Neesa’s role has provided her with invaluable real-world experience, allowing her to apply her classroom learning to practical situations. Bio: Senior, Jacob Deason, is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Naval Science. After graduation, he will commission as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy and has been selected as a Navy Nuclear Power Officer. After attending the Navy’s Nuclear Power School, he will be assigned to manage the Nuclear Powerplant Systems on one of our 12 U.S. Naval Aircraft Carriers. Already earning FAA Pilot Certifications, upon the completion of his five-and-a-half-year commitment to the Navy, Jacob he will return to his pursuit of aviation to follow his lifelong dreams of flying for a living, through the Air National Guard and a major airline. He’s known for his athleticism, tenacity, endless ambition, strong work ethic, and ability to lead others toward their best life opportunities. Bio: Mona Freeman is a dedicated student at Jacksonville University, pursuing majors in Marketing & Management. Bio: Thomas Hellenbrand is a Junior Accounting major with a Political Science minor and a captain on the Men’s Cross Country team. Currently, he’s the seventh fastest runner of all time at Jacksonville University. Professionally, Thomas is excited to enter into the accounting field and will be starting an internship with EY this winter, which will help him as he pursues a career in audit and assurance with a large accounting firm. Bio: Junior, Zachary Howard is pursuing a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Physics at Jacksonville University. Once Zachary receives his graduate degree, he will pursue a long-term career in either rollercoaster or aerospace engineering. Bio: Zachary Leinart II is a junior Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Physics major at Jacksonville University. Zachary has internship experience with Rep One Strength as an assembly/3Dprinter technician, along with business experience constructing and assembling 3Dprinted parts through use of CAD modeling while running online marketplace stores. Bio: Jenna is a senior graduating in accounting. She is furthering her education at Jacksonville University as she pursues her Master's of Business Administration. Bio:  Josh Moreira is a senior at Jacksonville University, majoring in Sport Business and minoring in Marketing. Bio: Jake Owens is a junior transfer student majoring in Aviation Management and Flight Operations. Before graduation, he plans to instruct at a flight school to build his hours. Bio:  Savannah Panting is a senior Aviation Management major, with a minor in Flight Operations, graduating early in November 2023. She’s currently enrolled in the Grad2Grad program and working on her Master of Business Administration, expecting to graduate in April of 2024. A current member of the JU Shooting Team, she earned a Top 20 National title in Super Sporting. Additionally, she’s an Instrument-rated Private Pilot and a Seaplane-rated pilot, retaining a tailwheel endorsement as well as rated to operate unmanned drones. Savannah’s Alaskan background, family values, work ethic, and drive for helping others continues to serve her well. Life in Alaska taught her to be strong, prepared and to think ahead to avoid potential pitfalls in life and in the extreme environment. Savannah currently mentors business students as a peer advisor and tutors flight operation students in demanding Federal Aviation Authority subjects. Her passions reside in flying, fishing, sport shooting, and the outdoors. She endeavors to be a senior leader of Flight Operations and a pilot at a major airline/corporation, working to be a chief pilot and eventually a vice president of flight operations.

Bio: Quentin Pellegrino is a senior majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Marketing. After finishing his bachelor’s degree in the spring, he plans on pursuing an MBA over two years and then pursuing a career in sales or commercial real estate. Quentin has been a member of the JU Men’s Lacrosse Team for the past four years. Quentin started his own lacrosse training company, “Bridge The Game, LLC”, in his hometown with a former teammate. Bio:   Layton Perry is a junior majoring in Finance. After earning his undergraduate degree, he plans to further his education and earn an MSF or MBA in Finance. Layton has been a Jacksonville University Baseball Team member since his freshman year. Selected by his coach, Layton also represents the JU Baseball Team through the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He dedicates his academic successes to his parents for teaching him how to work and showing him what it takes to be successful. After completing his master’s program, Layton plans to begin working for a financial firm focusing on retirement services.

Bio:  Casey Powell is a junior business student majoring in Finance. She has been a two-time team captain on JU’s Division 1 Women's Golf Team. Casey’s athletic achievements include the JU Athletics Female New Phin Award, the ASUN All-Freshman Team, the ASUN Conference All-Tournament Team, and the winner of the Sea Best Classic Collegiate Golf Tournament. Her dedication on the golf course translates to the classroom as a two-time Women Golf Coaches Association Academic All-American. Casey spends her summers working in golf course management in Kentucky and Michigan. After graduating, Casey plans to pursue a career in finance.

Bio: Josie Ratliff is a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity with a minor in Criminal Justice, with aspirations to commence her graduate studies in Digital Forensics next fall. Over the next five years, she aims to secure a position within a law enforcement agency or the Federal Bureau of Investigation to contribute to the vital mission of protecting and countering terrorism. Currently, Josie holds the role of Vice President for New Member Education within her sorority, Alpha Epsilon Phi. My involvement with Alpha Epsilon Phi has afforded her numerous opportunities to engage in community service and philanthropic initiatives, which have enriched her understanding of the importance of selfless service. Bio: Senior, Miller Reames, is majoring in Marketing with a Spanish minor. She’s a part of the Grad2Grad Program and will graduate with her MBA in May 2025. Miller is on the Beach Volleyball Team at Jacksonville University. She’s Vice President of Phi Kappa Phi and has recently received a leadership position on the beach volleyball team. Bio: Mackenzie Turinsky is a senior from Tampa, Florida. She is majoring in Management with a minor in Aviation Management and is set to graduate in 2024. In addition to being a Davis College of Business and Technology Top 25 Student, she’s a Zimmerman Scholar, Dean’s Fellow, Student Ambassador, a member of Phi Kappa Phi, and a part of Alpha Eta Rho, a professional aviation fraternity. Mackenzie is also a member of the JU Women’s Rowing Team and represents the team on the leadership council. She has made two NCAA appearances in the First Varsity 4+. Mackenzie works seasonally for Blue Sky Pools, a swimming pool construction company in Tampa, Florida. Mackenzie would like to pursue a career in construction project management.

Bio: MacKenzie Updike is a fourth-year student majoring in Business Administration and minoring in English. Next year, she’ll be pursuing her MBA through JU’s Grad2Grad program. Through her time here at JU, she has enjoyed holding multiple elected positions in her sorority as well as other organizations on campus. MacKenzie believes these leadership opportunities, which have also given her teamwork experience, will prepare her for any career path she decides to take. She feels that her strengths are in public speaking, communication, and presenting. MacKenzie also has a passion for writing and working with social media/public relations. She is creative, dedicated, and outgoing. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with family or friends.
