Top 25 PosterThe Davis College of Business and Technology at Jacksonville University honors its most promising future leaders each year by compiling the esteemed list of the Top 25 undergraduate students. This selection is made by a council comprising academic leaders and staff within the College, recognizing students who have distinguished themselves through exceptional academic achievements, leadership qualities, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to success.

 The Top 25 students from Davis College are proficient communicators and collaborators, adept at resolving intricate challenges and making informed decisions. These students often engage in diverse teams to pursue shared objectives or implement real-world projects that yield significant outcomes for major corporations in Northeast Florida.

Bio: Katarina Betris is a third-year student in the Davis College of Business and Technology majoring in International Business with a minor in Spanish. While obtaining her degree, she earned a certificate in Pre-Law. With this, she plans on going to Law School after graduation to specialize in International Corporate Law. During Katarina’s time at Jacksonville University, she has been a high-performing student while also being involved in many campus organizations. Leadership-wise, she currently holds the elected Vice President position for her sorority- Delta Delta Delta as well as an active member in the Pre-law Society and the Community Outreach chair for the Zimmerman Scholars Program. Her position as Community Outreach chair allows Katarina to assist her peers in the Zimmerman Scholars Program to get more involved in philanthropic causes. Katarina enjoys volunteering for Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville and raising funds for St. Jude Research Hospital.

Bio: Charles "Avery" Biggerstaff is a third-year student in the Davis College of Business and Technology, pursuing dual degrees in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Physics. He is a highly driven individual with a strong passion for continuous learning and the practical application of new concepts. This dedication not only enhances his technical expertise but also fosters significant intellectual and experiential growth, reflected in his broad range of technical and interpersonal skills. At Jacksonville University, Avery actively seeks out diverse opportunities to further develop his knowledge and abilities. His meticulous attention to detail, unwavering determination, and consistently positive outlook are widely recognized by both peers and faculty. Avery's leadership skills and collaborative mindset make him a highly valued team member and a respected figure in academic and social circles. Avery’s commitment to excellence is evident in every endeavor he undertakes including various leadership roles throughout his educational career, such as a cross-country team captain, senior class treasurer, honors peer mentor, and various club administrative roles. Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Avery plans to pursue a career in control systems engineering or circuit design. Bio: Luke Blas is a junior in the Davis College of Business and Technology at Jacksonville University, majoring in Finance with a minor in Naval Science. He is an active member of the JU Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps, where he is preparing to commission as an Ensign in the Navy upon graduation. In addition to his ROTC commitments, Luke is a leader for the JU Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is a walk-on student-athlete for the JU Baseball team. Luke’s involvement in both ROTC and baseball has fostered personal growth and deepened his commitment to teamwork and service. In his free time, Luke enjoys hanging out with friends, going for runs, working out, reading, and attending church. Bio: George Bowdouris III is a junior in the Davis College of Business and Technology at Jacksonville University, with a double major in Finance and Aviation Management Flight Operations. Building on his experience as a finance intern at Dun & Bradstreet, George hopes to explore opportunities in the finance industry as well as teach as a certified flight instructor. He has been a member of the JU Men’s Lacrosse Team for the past three years and was selected by his coach to represent the team through the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. As a devoted student-athlete, George navigates the challenges of rigorous training while excelling academically, showcasing both his resilience and leadership qualities

Bio: Amanda is a senior majoring in Business Analytics with a double minor in Finance and Marketing. After completing her undergraduate studies, she plans to attend law school to pursue a JD degree. Amanda is a member of the Division 1 Beach Volleyball team on campus and is also involved in the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. She is a part of the University Scholars Program and was invited to be a DCOBT Dean’s Fellow. Outside of school, Amanda enjoys volunteering at various non-profits and growing in her faith through attending FCA. Amanda would like to pursue a career in Business/Corporate Law by earning a JD degree at a high-ranking law school.

Madeline works on campus as a student ambassador, is an executive member of the varsity shooting team, and is also a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi. As a former captain of the shooting team and a high academic-achieving student, Madeline has not only learned the importance of balance but also how to be a good student-leader. Madeline hopes to secure a marketing position in the hospitality or tourism industries, where she can utilize her social media experience, creative abilities, and problem-solving skills. Aside from Madeline’s dedication to academics and career, she enjoys travel, fitness, literature, and the performing arts. As Madeline continues her education at JU, she is looking forward to learning all that she can while encountering new opportunities!

Bio: Jordan Dix is a junior in the Davis College of Business and Technology at Jacksonville University majoring in Marketing and minoring in Psychology. She plans to attend law school after graduating, earning her law degree, and beginning a career in business law. A dedicated student-athlete, Jordan has maintained a 3.85 GPA while competing on the JU Women’s Cross Country and Track team for three years. Her parents and dedication to the student-athlete lifestyle have instilled a strong work ethic, teaching her the importance of time management, communication, and striving for excellence. Through her time as a student-athlete, Jordan has also developed leadership skills and learned the value of teamwork in achieving shared success. She has worked in a workout studio, Barre3 Des Peres, at home in St. Louis for over four years and loves to spend time there working out and bonding with clients. During her free time, Jordan enjoys going to the beach, spending time with friends and family, and exploring Jacksonville.

Bio: Shane Gillis is a driven and accomplished Electrical Engineering student in his junior year in the Davis College of Business and Technology at Jacksonville University, pursuing minors in Applied Mathematics and Management. Through a rigorous academic curriculum, he has cultivated a strong technical foundation and developed essential interpersonal skills. Shane's academic excellence is complemented by his diverse practical experiences. As a teaching assistant, he has provided valuable guidance to peers, fostering a collaborative learning environment in sophomore-level engineering design classes. His hands-on experience as a laborer on construction projects has sharpened his problem-solving capabilities and deepened his understanding of real-world engineering applications. In his role as a cashier and cook, Shane demonstrated the ability to perform efficiently in fast-paced settings while delivering exceptional customer service. In addition to his academic and professional pursuits, Shane is actively engaged in leadership roles, including serving on the Parish Council and holding multiple leadership positions with the JU Shooting Team. These roles highlight his commitment to community service, teamwork, and continuous personal development. Shane’s diverse experiences, academic rigor, and leadership make him a well-rounded and promising candidate for engineering and management roles. Bio: Owen Guske is a JU senior majoring in Finance Technology in the Davis College of Business and Technology, with aspirations of pursuing professional soccer after college and a strong interest in product management. He’s a captain of the JU Men's Soccer team and has demonstrated leadership both on and off the field. Through a mentorship program with JU alumnus Vlad Rak, EVP, and CTO at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Owen has developed his leadership and strategic-thinking skills, preparing him for his future career pursuits. In his free time, Owen enjoys baking healthy recipes for his family and friends, combining his passion for nutrition with creativity in the kitchen. He’s also actively learning about real estate and personal finance to enhance his knowledge in both fields. Last year, Owen successfully organized a creative financing deal, showcasing his ability to apply real estate principles in practical scenarios. Upon graduating from JU in December 2024, Owen is eager to explore opportunities in professional soccer and product management while continuing to improve himself and those around him.

Emily is a captain on the JU Beach Volleyball team and a representative on the student-athlete advisory committee. This has helped her further develop time management, discipline, and leadership skills. After completing her master’s program, Emily plans to complete the CPA exam and work as an auditor for a private or public company.

Bio: Jack Kukis is a junior in the Davis College of Business and Technology majoring in Marketing and Management with a minor in Entrepreneurship. He has joined the Grad-to-Grad program and is on track to achieve his MBA in Spring 2027. Jack is very involved on campus at Jacksonville University, including the Zimmerman Scholars, Davis College Student Ambassador, and Sigma Chi Fraternity, to name a few. After graduation, he has an interest in sales. In his free time, he loves fitness, spending time with his friends and family, and being around like-minded individuals. Jack believes surrounding himself with similarly driven individuals will not only help him grow but will also allow him to contribute to the growth of others.

Bio: Joshua Kutcher is a senior at Jacksonville University majoring in Aviation Management. Once he has completed his undergraduate degree, he will be commissioned in the Marine Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at JU. Joshua will then attend The Basic School in Quantico, VA where he will compete for a pilot contract. After job selection is completed, Joshua will pursue a Masters degree and eventually retire from the Marine Corps. Once retired, Joshua seeks to gain employment that is flexible enough so he can travel the United States competing in Spartan Races.

Bio: Jack Neill, an international student from London, England, is pursuing a degree in Finance and FinTech in the Davis College of Business and Technology at Jacksonville University. A key member of the JU  Men’s Golf team, Jack was named captain this year, focusing on mentoring freshmen players and fostering team growth. With aspirations to turn professional after graduation, Jack aims to earn his Tour card within the next year. Beyond campus, Jack spends summers caddying at the renowned Sunningdale Golf Club and competing in golf tournaments across Europe. Bio: Isabela Oliveira Guedes is a junior double majoring in International Business and Marketing with minors in Business Analytics and Engineering Management. Isabela is one of the Zimmerman Scholars, a Davis College peer advisor, and an associate at The Reef, an organization part of Student Engagement and Leadership. She serves on the Student Government Association as the International Student Association Senator and was recently inducted into the JU Green Key Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi. Isabela dedicates her success to the JU faculty and her family, who have continuously supported and inspired her throughout her academic journey. She is currently enrolled in Jacksonville University’s Grad2Grad program and anticipates graduating with her MBA in Spring 2027. After graduation, Isabela would like to pursue a career as a marketing strategist executive in a multinational organization and later acquire a Ph.D. in International Business.

Bio: Alyssa Pouget is a senior at Jacksonville University, majoring in Aviation Management and Flight Operations with a minor in Spanish. Alyssa has actively participated in the Hispanic Latino Student Association, serving as both President and Treasurer during her involvement. Bio:  Shea Prescott is a fourth-year transfer student majoring in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computing Science in the Davis College of Business and Technology at Jacksonville University. He has served the United States Navy for over 10 years as an Aegis fire controlman and electronic technician. He volunteers as a master gardener for Duval County and the Wounded Warriors adaptive sports project. He has completed his Fundamentals of Engineering: Electrical Certification from the NCEES credentialing agency.  Shea hopes to utilize his Electrical Engineering degree to work as an electrical engineer for the United States Navy Ballistic Missile Defense Program or the United States Army Patriot Program.

Bio:Ryan Scully is a junior majoring in Aviation Management and Flight Operations in the Davis College of  Business and Technology. Bio: Evan Sharp is currently a Davis College of Business and Technology junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering who has excelled academically while participating on the Men’s Lacrosse team at Jacksonville Univeristy. During his time at JU, he has been named to the President’s List three times and has pursued a variety of extracurricular activities, including co-founding the STEM Research Association, where he currently serves as president. Notably, in the summer of 2024, Evan had engineering research published and featured as a solo author in the Journal of Applied Mathematics and Physics, a peer-reviewed academic journal. Evan is a very driven and detail-oriented student, who is passionate about learning and creating. In his free time, he enjoys practicing his engineering and lacrosse skills, reading non-fiction, and working out.
