Graduate International Admissions
Students interested in our Graduate and Professional Studies programs should review the complete directory of programs to determine admissions requirements.
Questions can be directed at the Graduate Admissions Officer of your program of interest.
Note: The discovery of fraudulent or plagiarized documentation within submitted materials, at any point in your matriculation to the university, will result in an immediate denial or revocation of your acceptance offer. This action includes the forfeiture of any associated application fees, enrollment fees, and other relevant charges.
Demonstrated English proficiency is required of all non-native English speaking international students who come from a country where English is not spoken amongst the masses.
Students may demonstrate proficiency by submitting one of the following:
Competitive Scores | Minimum |
IELTS | 6.5 |
TOEFL iBT | 79 |
Pearson PTE | 59 |
Duolingo | 110 |
Additionally, international applicants who demonstrate academic achievement through the completion of one of the following may have the English proficiency requirement waived, subject to review by the Office of Graduate & Professional Studies.
- Hold an earned equivalent of associate's, bachelor's, master's or PhD degree from a recognized/regionally accredited U.S. institution or country where English is the official and spoken language.
- Have successfully completed one academic year in a qualified degree-seeking program at a recognized/regionally accredited U.S. institution or a country where English is the official and spoken language.
Applicants who are applying to Jacksonville University with college/university credits that were received outside of the United States will need to complete a course-by-course foreign credential evaluation. The college/university transcript will not be reviewed without this evaluation completed and an official copy must be sent by the organization that made it.
Most evaluations are valid for 5 years, however, this may vary depending upon the evaluation organization. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure the evaluation is valid up until the date of matriculation.
The Evaluation Company (TEC) (formally SpanTran) is a NACES-member company that evaluates non-U.S. transcripts. They have created a custom application for JU students to help students get the right kind of evaluation at a discounted rate. Students can access their application by clicking here.
We also accept evaluations from all other members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
