CAPT Jeremy R. "J.R." Hill, USN
CAPT Jeremy Hill is from Star Prairie, Wisconsin. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy and received his commission in 1995.
His sea tours include USS SCOTT (DDG 995), USS CARR (FFG 52), USS DEYO (DD 989), USS CORMORANT (MHC 57), USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19), and USS TAYLOR (FFG 50). CAPT Hill completed his command tours of USS TAYLOR in November 2012 and USS PORTLAND (LPD 27) in September 2018.
His shore assignments include U.S. Naval War College, Chief of Naval Operation’s Strategic Studies Group XXIII, Deputy Seabasing Branch in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Assessment Division N81, Executive Assistant to Commander, U.S. SIXTH Fleet, Chief, Requirements Management Branch on the Joint Staff, Force Structure, Resources, and Assessment Directorate, J-8, Joint Capabilities Division and the Amphibious Warfare Branch Head in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Expeditionary Warfare OPNAV N95. CAPT Hill recently completed his tour as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Fleet Readiness and Logistics, OPNAV N4.
He completed a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. Additionally, he completed a Masters of Systems Analysis and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Naval Post Graduate School.
CAPT Hill’s personal awards and decorations include: the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (w/1 star), Meritorious Service Medal (w/3 stars), Navy Commendation Medal (w/3 stars), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (w/2 stars), and various service awards.
Executive Officer (XO)
CDR Bryon Yamaji, USN
Commander Bryon “Rasta” Yamaji is the son of a Navy Electronic Technician (Nuclear Submarine) 1st Class Petty Officer. After graduating from high school in 1996 he enlisted in the US Marine Corps until 2004. He graduated from Wayland Baptist University, Hawaii Campus in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education. CDR Yamaji received his commission in July 2006 via Officer Candidate School and was designated a Naval Flight Officer in March 2008.
At the completion of the EA-6B Fleet Replacement Squadron he was selected for Electronic Attack Squadron 136 (VAQ-136) in Japan. While in Japan, he served as Public Affairs Officer, First Lieutenant, and Line Division Officer where he completed 5 deployments on the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN73). Rasta’s final deployment was VAQ-136 Prowler Far East sundown tour before the squadron returned to Whidbey Island, WA transitioning to EA-18G Growlers.
In January 2012, he reported to VT-86 in NAS Pensacola, FL for his instructor tour. He was designated the T-39 and T-45 Strike Standardization Officer, T-39 NATOPS instructor, and senior TRAWING 6 aircrew for T-39 FCFs. CDR Yamaji is a recipient of the Association of Naval Aviation Instructor of the Year, Pensacola Lions Club Instructor of the Year, and Captain Paynter Leadership Award for Esprit de Corps, along with multiple squadron awards.
Following his instructor tour, was assigned to C7F Task Force Integrated Air and Missile Defense, as the Japan Desk Officer on the USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC19). He was instrumental in the coordination, planning, and execution between the US joint forces and host nations to meet all operational requirements.
In 2018, joined Commander, Carrier Strike Group Three, embarked on the USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN74) as the Flag Electronic Warfare Officer (Deputy N39) to support operations in C7F, C5F, and C6F. His Department Head tour began in 2019 and served as the Director of Operations for the USN’s EA-18Gs at Commander, Electronic Attack Wing, Pacific Fleet in Whidbey Island, WA. CDR Yamaji reported to C7F in July 2022 and serves as the Director of Deliberate Plans.
CDR Yamaji earned a second Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics from Liberty University in 2016, and a Masters of Art in Defense and Strategic Studies from the US Naval War College in 2018. He is a fellow of the advanced research program, Gravely Group. Has accumulated over 2,000 flight hours in 8 different military aircraft and 250 arrested landings. Authorized awards include Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3) and multiple unit decorations.
Marine Officer Instructor (MOI)
Capt Kimberly Schultz, USMC
Captain Kimberly L. Schultz was born at the Naval Hospital in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
After graduating from Coronado High School in Coronado, CA in 2001 and attending college
for three years at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL, she enlisted in the
United States Marine Corps. PFC Schultz completed recruit training at Marine Corps
Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC in October of 2006. PFC Schultz was meritoriously
promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal upon completion of Supply Administration School
in January of 2007 and then reported to 1st Supply Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment
15, in Camp Pendleton, CA.
LCpl Schultz was assigned to the Initial Issue Provisioning section where she was promoted to the rank of Corporal in July 2007. In February of 2008, Cpl Schultz deployed with Combat Logistics Regiment 15 (-) (Rein) as the
Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of Initial Issue Provisioning on Camp Al Taqqadum, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In May 2008, she was Combat Meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant. While there, she was instrumental in supplying over 45 units in the Area of Operation with over $400 million in assets.
In September of 2008, Sgt Schultz volunteered to remain in Iraq and was transferred to Combat Logistics Regiment 17, G-8 Base Operations section, where she worked as the Contracting and Procurement NCOIC until March of 2009. There she drafted Letters of Justification, Scopes of Work, and receipted for and approved contractor bids for projects that included the demilitarization of West Camp Habbaniyah and the Joint Air Cargo Operations Terminal. She also led a civil affairs project that provided local homeless Iraqis shelter utilizing materials unserviceable for intended military purposes.
After returning from Iraq, Sgt Schultz was assigned to 1st Supply Battalion, Battalion Supply where she was the Supply Administrative Chief. In March of 2010, Sgt Schultz deployed as the Supply Management Unit Fiscal Chief with Combat Logistics Regiment 15 (-) (Rein) on Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. There, she was directly responsible for managing the largest fiscal account in the Regional Command (Southwest) Area of Responsibility with amounts in excess of $596 million. In September of 2010, Sgt Schultz was selected for the rank of SSgt and was promoted in August of 2011.
In December of 2010, Sgt Schultz was assigned to Inspector-Instructor Duty in Aurora, Colorado as the Supply Chief for Production and Analysis Company, Intelligence Support Battalion. She was responsible for equipment, weapons, lodging and messing for seven detachments located in four different states, and was the Deputy Family Readiness Officer and Uniformed Victim Advocate for Intelligence Support Battalion. In July 2014, SSgt Schultz left active duty and joined the Selected Marine Corps Reserve. She completed a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland University College and began to pursue a Master’s Degree in Finance at the University of Denver. After 6 months, she joined the Individual Augmentee detachment at the Deployment Processing Command/Reserve Support Unit-East aboard Camp Lejeune, NC and was mobilized in May of 2015 as the Supply Chief and later, as the Command Career Planner. She was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in September 2015. After spending a year as the Company First Sergeant for Training Company, GySgt Schultz was selected for the Reserve Enlisted Commissioning Program in 2017 and was commissioned in August 2018. Following The Basic School in March of 2019, 2ndLt Schultz graduated from Logistics Officers Course, Camp Johnson, NC in July of 2019.
After graduation, 2ndLt Schultz was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 13 as part of her Professional Development Tour. There she served as the Maintenance Management Officer and S-4 Officer. In January 2020, she participated in Exercise Native Fury in the United Arab Emirates as the Logistics Command Element Watch Officer and Maintenance Management Officer. Following her Professional Development Tour in September 2020, 1stLt Schultz returned to her reserve unit, Personnel Retrieval and Processing Company in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was selected to return to active duty in 2021. In May 2021, 1stLt Schultz was transferred to 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, where she served as the Motor Transport Officer. In December 2022 she was temporarily attached to Combat Logistics Battalion 1 with whom she deployed as the General Support Company Commander for the Logistics Combat Element during the Marine Rotational Force Darwin 23.3 deployment. She served as the S4 Officer at Wounded Warrior Battalion – West. She completed her Master’s in Business Administration in June 2021 and is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Liberty University.
Capt Schultz’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal w/ one gold star in lieu of second award, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/ two gold stars in lieu of third award, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal w/ one bronze star in lieu of second award, the Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.

Gunnery Sergeant Steven R. Veliz
Gunnery Sergeant Veliz was born on 17 June, 1994 in Somerville, New Jersey. He enlisted
in the Marine Corps on 22 October, 2012. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps
Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina, where he was the Ironman for Delta
Company and was promoted to Private First Class (PFC) upon graduation as a contract
PFC. After graduating recruit training, he attended Marine Combat Training (MCT) at
Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Following completion of MCT he attended Military Occupational
Specialty (MOS) training at the U.S. Army Signal Training Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia,
where he graduated as the Honor Graduate for his class and received the MOS of Satellite
Communications Operator (0627). In July of 2013, he was promoted to the rank of Lance
Corporal.
In July of 2013, Gunnery Sergeant Veliz reported to Detachment A, Marine Wing Communication
Squadron 18, Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, where he served as a Satellite Communications
Operator. In November of 2013, Gunnery Sergeant Veliz deployed as a Satellite Communications
Operator to the Philippines for Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief (HADR). In
January of 2014, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal. In January of 2015, he was
promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
In July of 2015, Gunnery Sergeant Veliz reported to Bravo Company, 9th Communications
Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California, where he served as a Satellite Communications
Operator, Platoon Sergeant, Key Management Infrastructure NCOIC and Satellite Chief.
While there he participated in many field operations and training.
In January of 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Veliz reported for duty at Drill Instructor School
Class 2-18, MCRD San Diego, California, where he was the Honor Graduate for his class.
Upon graduation, Gunnery Sergeant Veliz was assigned to Company B, First Recruit Training
Battalion where he held the billets of Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor.
In October of 2018, he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was then reassigned
to Company D, First Recruit Training Battalion where he held the billet of Chief Drill
Instructor.
In March of 2021, Gunnery Sergeant Veliz reported to Battery A, 1st Battalion 11th
Marines, Camp Pendleton, California where he served as a Transmissions Chief. In February
of 2022, he attended MOS advancement training at Twentynine Palms, California, where
he graduated in the top 10 percent of his class and received the MOS of Transmissions
Chief (0629). In April of 2022, Gunnery Sergeant Veliz executed a Change in Operational
Procedures (CHOP) with Battery A to Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 2nd Battalion, 4th
Marines. In November of 2022, he deployed on the 23.1 Western Pacific with the 13th
Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), where he served as the Battery Transmissions Chief.
In July of 2023, Gunnery Sergeant Veliz reported to Marine Wing Communications Squadron
38, MCAS Miramar, California, where he served as a Transmissions Chief and Platoon
SNCOIC. In September of 2023, he was promoted to his current rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
In January of 2024, Gunnery Sergeant Veliz executed a CHOP with Marine Air Control
Group 38 Detachment (MACG-38 Det) to 5th Marine Regiment. In March of 2024, he deployed
on the Marine Rotational Force-Darwin 24.3 with the Command Element, where he served
as the Detachment Communications Chief.
In March of 2025, Gunnery Sergent Veliz reported to Jacksonville University (NROTC),
Jacksonville, Florida, where he currently serves as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor
(AMOI).
Gunnery Sergeant Veliz's personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation
Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement
Medal with gold star in lieu of fourth award, and the Humanitarian Service Medal.

LSC(EXW/SW/AW) Richard Holtslander, USN
LSC Holtslander was born in Flint, Michigan, and grew up in the small town of Millington,
Michigan. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, completing Recruit Training Command and Logistics
Specialist "A" School in 2010.
His Sea tours include Harbor Patrol Unit (HPU) Naval Support Activity Bahrain, Special
Boat Team Twenty (SBT-20), and USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77). His Shore Assignments
include Aviation Support Detachment Mayport (ASD), Explosive Ordnance Disposal Training
and Evaluation Unit Two (EOD TEUTWO), and Jacksonville University Naval Reserve Officer
Training Corps (JU NROTC).
He completed an Associate of Arts in 2020 and completed a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration in 2022 from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Additionally,
he’s completed Navy Enlisted Classifications in, Chief Petty Officer Leadership Development,
Expeditionary Force Combat Skills, Naval Special Warfare Combat Service Support, and
Relational Supply Unit Technical Specialist.
